An evening with the guys

Thursday evening Dave and I went out with Pedro, my Spanish teacher last year, and Edwin, my teacher this year. We went to Guiseppes, an Italian restaurant, and ate pizza de ajo (garlic pizza). It's one of my favorite places to eat in Xela. We had quite a bilingual conversation. Dave still doesn't understand much in Spanish, and Edwin doesn't feel very comfortable speaking English, so Pedro and I did a lot of translating. We had a great time despite any language barriers!

Funny story - While we were looking at the menu, Dave said that a calzone sounded good to eat. The word is spelled the same way in English and in Spanish, so he said it the English way. Pedro and Edwin started laughing and eventually calmed down enough to tell us why. Cal-zone with two syllables means women's underware. Cal-zon-e with three syllables means calzone. So, it sounded like Dave was saying he wanted to eat some women's underwear. :)
